I’m sitting in Andy Braner’s basement right now. I’m here because Leadership Weekend for Kanakuk is this weekend and I came early to check out this awesome youth group in the area. I was able to catch some of Braner’s vision for kamp, and I’m pretty pumped about some of the ideas we have started discussing. Today was kind of a free day, so we went to the local auction house and checked out some RV’s, wakeboard boats and cars… man stuff… you wouldn’t understand. We then headed back to Braner’s office and I sat in while he ran is weekly blog-o-sphere radio show. I am normally busy when he is doing the show, so it was good to finally get to hear/see it.
Tomorrow everybody else should be coming in for the weekend, I can’t wait. This is one of my favorite times of the year. The air is thick with anticipation and everybody is just chomping at the bit. The excitement is nowhere near what we get to experience at kamp, but it is pretty dang close. It is like the preview for a movie that you know is going to be unbelievable. The same feeling I got when I saw the Lord of the Rings, Dark Knight and Origins: Wolverine trailer’s over the past few years… except it lasts for a whole weekend. The only bad thing about all of this is that it magnifies my spring fever, which has already been aggravated by my raging senioritis.
