Doing Nothing

Well, its just another friday here in Waco. I have decided it would be a good thing for me to actually use this blog rather than just abandoning it like it did with my xanga in like 8th grade.

This past Sunday my phone and wallet were stolen while I played soccer at Caesar Chavez Middle School. I then preceded to drive around the ghetto in Waco searching for the three kids on bikes that had taken my stuff. This was maybe the dumbest thing I could have ever done. scenario: “Jip sees the kids and gets out of the car to go confront them. Jip asks for his wallet and phone back, explaining that they can keep the cash and that the credit cards, driver’s license and cell phone are worthless. Kids call for older brother, Jip gets shot in the face with an Uzi.” This is the most likely situation I could imagine, and not only do I end up dead in it… I still wouldn’t have my phone.

I have been really humbled through this whole situation. I literally cannot do a thing by myself. I did not even have an alarm clock. I would not be able to even wake up for class in the morning if my girlfriend had not lent me her watch. I have no way to purchase anything right now, I cannot eat unless somebody spots me a few dollars, I am helpless right now. I’m waiting for my new credit cards to get here in the mail… and I have to leave on Wednesday to go up to Branson. I don’t even have a way to buy gas! So, I am now at the will of the United States Postal Service… which I heard is going to go bankrupt this year. That really builds my trust in their ability to deliver.

On an entirely different note:

I’ve decided that my life is actually what people dream about. I am essentially living the movie Van Wilder sans alcohol and random gratuitous sexual relationships. I don’t have class on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until 2:30… and I’m done by 3:45. I also do not have class at all on Fridays. This all to say that every weekend is a three day weekend, so all I have to do today is eat… and thaaaats about it.

This weekend my boy, Drew Crowson, is in town. We have been doing all things Waco, which basically consists of hanging out at Common Grounds (best coffee shop ever) and eating at hole in the wall restaurants. This morning we ate at Cafe Cappuccino and for lunch we are planning on Viteks, the best barbecue of ever. It is the worst thing I have ever put in my body, but for some reason I cannot stop eating it.
